Drard Fizbogwaan and Gizmo (D-ra-eye-d Fee-zz-ba-o-ga-win)

Drard and Gizmo's motto and mantra as according to the Gnomish Tinkerer. He is notorious for not fully testing any upgrades to Gizmo in a controlled environment, before just taking it out in the field.

Physical Description

Body Features

Drard himself has shining copper eyes seeming to burst with creativity, intelligence and perhaps a little bit of crazy. He has wild near shoulder length bronze hair, and skin that looks as if a canvas of sorts, its original tone or complexion long lost, as any regularly visible part of his body is stained with soot, oil, grease, and paint, along with a few tattoos of various symbols and iconography related to his interest in mechanics.

Facial Features

His face has a soft, almost cheubric shape, with a distinct lack of eyebrows, having more or less permanently burned away. His face has a few notable small burn scars near his right ear, and upon his chin. He almost constantly has his protective googles on. He has a friendly smile, and a little goatee to match his hair.

Special abilities

Like all of his kind, Drard seems to have an uncanny accuracy and natural talent with ranged armaments.

Apparel & Accessories

Drard will most often be found in his shop clothes, including a heavy apron with many pouches and pockets, sort of a tool 'belt' of sorts. When not in the apron, any clothing he has, even his 'nicest' are grease stained dyed leather and cotton garments. He's always basically lived in his work and generally, though friendly and approachable, is not the most socially astute when it comes to managing appearance.

Along with many various tools of course, the biggest and most notable also happens to be his method of transportation and defending himself, Gizmo, the Bulwark model Magni-mech.

Personal history

Drard Fizbogwaan comes from a long line of inventive and crafty family. His father is a well known gunsmith in Rydan, his mother an accomplished chef running her own fine dining establishment within the city, Drard us youngest of three siblings and took his own path. He does send word to his family whenever he has spare coin to send letter by courier or magick (which is not too often). Drard himself went to the finest engineering academy in Waston for the study of mechanics and engineering, finished his first two years of five, and then took to the road. He had built his own magni-mech he lovingly calls "Gizmo" and generally felt that that he would learn more practically by taking to the road for a few months, perhaps longer, to learn via experiencing practical applications of the skills and knowledge. That was three years ago, and he's just never really gone back.

The wanderlust has taken up in him fully, and he sees adventure and innovation as intrinsically linked and a worthwhile way of continuing his studies, specifically in the fields of Magni-Mech technology, innovation and maintenance.

Education

He is quite well educated, having finished two years of schooling as a mechanical engineer.

Motivation

Drard is a good friend and cares about his companions, however beyond even that he cares about expanding his own knowledge both in his fields and in general. He is a fiend for learning, experimenting, and mechanical study especially. Gizmo is his pride and joy, his magnum opus that is still in progress.

Speech

His voice is quite high pitched, yet sort of raspy and crackled, from years of breathing in smoke, ash, metal shavings and chemical fumes. He has a clipped speech pattern, speaking very fast usually, and has an accent of his own, a sort of similar tropic feel, but this one with heat and thickness to its sound, though again, it is not exceedingly thick. He has a wide and varied vocabulary, and can be quite creative in his use of language when stressed, almost seeming to invent new words or phrases on some occasions.
