Exhaustion {X}

A silent killer, and a tricky one. Your legs feel heavy, your mind foggy, your body sore, but you push on. You push on, despite the risks, a most dangerous proposition indeed.

Causes

Exhaustion is an insidious beast and can creep up on even the hardiest of folk whom are not careful. Lack of sleep, lack of nutrition, lack of hydration, these are common causes, however there are others. Some magicks can sap ones energy so harshly as to inflict such a state, as can some illnesses and toxins.

Symptoms

Exhaustion has no simple or direct symptoms, but instead seems to just drain an individual in general, limiting their focus, their physical and mental aptitude, their ability to function in even basic senses.

Adventures in Valerick: Exhaustion is a scaling condition that can range from 1-6, the number in brackets. This number represents the negative you take to any and all d20 rolls of any kind that involve use of any skill, attribute, or the action bonus from your character sheet. Should you be suffering from Exhaustion {6} and something happens that would cause you to gain another rank of this condition, you instead immediately collapse into unconsicousness and gain Dying {1} whilst still be afflicted with Exhaustion {6}. This means the -6 from the exhaustion will apply to your Toughness Rolls to avoid the Dying condition advancing.

Treatment

Rest. Rest rest rest rest rest. 1 rest (8 hours) purges Exhaustion {1} however also limits someone's ability to recover to that of a Regroup.

Prognosis

It is possible to die of exhaustion.
