Ivellios Zastriel (Eh-vel-ee-oss Za-st-uh-real)
"I've seen nightmares child, I've lived them. You are not them. You are not evil, and you are a decent person I'm happy to have met. I've seen evil, I've lived darkness, and I've suffered the whims and cruelty of the corrupt and wicked. You are not any of those. So worry not Liesha, and insure your brother knows. You've nothing to worry about with me. It seems we all have reasons we are wandering, lost, damaged, and don't fit in. If you'd both have me, I'd happily travel together for a while. Perhaps we can find purpose traveling together."
Ivellios speaking to Liesha the night after their first time meeting, an incident on the road between the towns of Knell and Ishvi, in the little village of Eel's Rock.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Besides his missing half an ear and fingers, which he hides with his gloves and wooden prosthetics within them, he has many general scars, bits and pricks, and obvious lash marks all about his torso, back, legs and worse. He has a burn scar
Show spoiler
His wrists, those whom see them and have even the barest of knowledge of the sea and naval affairs and recent history, or just general knowledge of medicine, could tell his wrists, the strange indents and graying of them, about three inches wide. Obvious marks of manacles, oar manacles for those whom understand more than basic knowledge.all about the left half of his man-hood, and is incapable of having children as a result of this torturous treatment.
Facial Features
His black grey eyes seem almost empty, mostly, though the rare moments Ivellios experiences true happiness, there is a slight bit of golden flickering that could be seen by anyone whom would be looking, however it is brief. His features are sharp, hawkish as would be expected from those of Elven blood, only heightened by decades of malnutrition, some slight permanent tissue collapse visible, small barely visible pock marks. His right ear is missing the lobe and half the ear up from where that should be, lost to frostbite. Yet in spite of that hardship, his teeth, a strange truth of elven kind, are quite healthy still.
Special abilities
Like all elves, Ivellios is gifted with Aethyr Sight, able to shift his vision on a whim to see beyond the material and into the Aethyr. He is also sleepless, not needing to sleep, and immune to magicks or effects that would cause him to slumber. He instead enters a fully aware, but very relaxed meditative state when needing to rest.
Apparel & Accessories
When traveling outside towns or villages, Ivellios is in heavy armors, a proper dwarven set of full mail with protective plates strategically bolted and riveted into the assembly, with simple but effective plate and hardened gambeson greaves. A simple helm in a dwarven style, and a proper heavy shield, made to size. The shield is the only thing with a finish, of granite tones with crimson streaking, a three headed flail depicted in the middle.
Specialized Equipment
Ivellios is an oddity for his kind, even amongst the small subset of those whom practice skill at arms of any kind. Skye Elves, indeed elves in general, are not often prone to preferring heavier armors and shields, or melee combat unless mounted. They oft prefer archery, lighter armors, and mounted skirmish tactics. However Ivellios is an exception to this, utilizing heavier armors, heavy gauge mail and plate tunic with iron plated greaves, boots and gloves, and an open face helm, along with a large dwarven style shield. He is a passable archer, but prefers close quarters if forced into conflict, wielding a flail, the spiked iron head a devastating implement

Personal history
Ivellios has a dark past and no real memory of himself. He is whom he is now as a reborn identity. Five decades ago he was a prisoner, an oar slave, aboard the Sea Bitch, and had been for the better part of four decades at least. Tortured, beaten, psychologically tormented, mercilessly worked under the lash and spiked chains and worse, far worse, by a dark elf corsair crew. Somehow he survived, as is the way of his people often. The Skye Elves are a warrior culture and as such perhaps it is not shocking he survived. The Sea Bitch was sunk in a wild battle, however when the ship was destroyed he was not onboard, for during the battle, like a few oar slaves, he escaped when somehow a whole other ship and a particular individual were teleported. He washed up on shore, mercilessly spared the sea creatures under the drow corsair's control and the Wolves of the Sea, but the tundra ocean was not greatly forgiving. He lost two fingers on his left hand to frostbite, and half his right ear. He washed up and was found in the aftermath, taken in by a dwarven family in Higveld, in the far northern realms of Suranth on the continent of Durol. Raised by these dwarves for a while, rehabilitated, he was adopted by the Torva clan, a warrior family, and taught methods at arms more similar to dwarven warfare. Given the loss of the fingers on his left hand, he could not wield two handed weapons properly in melee, though he could use a bow. More importantly he could use a shield, which is how he was taught.
However he knew he could not stay here forever. Not in Higveld or even in Suranth. The nightmares haunted him every night, strong in the northern lands, the lands and seas of his torment. So after a few scant decades, though he would never forget his adopted kindred, he left to take to the road, with naught a gift of weapon, a flail, a heavy shield bearing the Torva clan mark, a three headed flail on a field of granite and rust colored metal, along with a simple but sturdy recurve bow he had made, a trench knife, and of course a solid and hefty coat of plates, some fine but simple dwarven made armor.
He is a wandering warrior now, always seeking to outrun the nightmares, the night terrors, and seeking to find a place where he belongs, where he feels he can be welcomed and helpful. He cannot return home, he has no home, no memory of a family. So he seeks to find a new family, and a place to help. He despises dark elves, the drow with all fibres of his being, and has no time for those whom would deal in flesh and people's freedom, selling people for coin. He took the name Zastriel, for in the Elthain language it means Star-Born and given he awoke under the stars to the dwarves whom adopted him, trying to revive him and check if he was alive, under a night where the stars were unusually clear and crystal to him. It seems a fitting new name to have taken since he knows not his old one.

Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Ivellios is motivated by companionship, and is very loyal to those he eventually becomes friends with, and is extremely loyal now to Drard Fizbogwaan and Gizmo, his current companion, the gnomish tinkerer whom's company he has enjoyed the last three months, and his Magni-Mech. He finds the machine fascinating, even if he cannot contribute academically to its continued developments, Drard seems to value his general observations and general willingness to engage and learn and take interest. In truth Ivellios does this because these discussions and this odd friendship is about the closest he's felt to feeling....real joy and happiness, something lasting, something beyond fleeting pleasure, which has its own nightmares attached, as drow use pleasure overload, pushing it to pain, as torture. He is motivated to seek more of this sort of companionship, whereever strange places he may find it. Simple friendship, companionship of the soul, of the mind.
Social
Speech
Ivellios is rather soft spoken, with a strangely balanced voice for one of elven blood, not really as musical or serene as one would expect. He isn't talkative, but is well spoken enough, just prefering to keep to himself and those he knows well.
