Mind-Reaver Mutagen

A uniquely useful and subtle mutagenic compound one that outwardly seems to have almost no effect, but that is to be expected. Allowing silent communication, detection of intent and emotional responses, and even heightening and focusing one's own intellectual prowess.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

CN: 17, Tier II; 22, Tier III; 27

Toxicity: Ingesting this concoction will deal 1d10 poison damage, or half that if the drinker can manage to succeed a Toughness Defense Test. If you are foolish enough to be trying to use more than one Mutagenic Compound at once, this damage increases by 3d10 for each mutagenic compound you've injested previously that is still acting upon you, and you would be afflicted with Toxic (3) Condition.

Duration: 4 hours

Basic Effects: You gain the ability to communicate telepathically with anyone willing within 100 feet of you. You also can take an action and read the current emotional surface thoughts of any creature you can see within 20 feet of you. Furthermore, you can attempt a special action 1/round. Mind Spike. You attempt to force your ego into the mind of a creature you can see within 30 feet. They may attempt a Sagacity Defense Test. If failed, they take 1d6 psychic damage and are Stunned until your next turn. If successful they are not stunned but take the full damage. You also gain +2 to your Intellect Attribute.

Rank II Effects: You can communicate telepathically over 200 feet. You can read emotional surface thoughts of any creature within 40 feet of you. Mind Spike now does 1d12 psychic damage. You now gain +4 to your Intellect Attribute.

Rank III Effects: You can communicate Telepathically over 300 feet. You can read emotional surface thoughts of any creature you can see within 60 feet of you. Mind Spike now does 3d6 psychic damage. You now gain +6 to your Intellect Attribute.
