Some of the weirdest and most potent of the chemical sciences, the study of bio-engineering produces mutagenic compounds, these strange, esoteric, powerful, and dangerously potent chemicals that alter, temporarily, the physiology and psychology of those that consume them, granting unique and highly powerful boons. These concoctions are naturally dangerous, given what they are made with, but they are also extremely potent and long lasting, lasting an hour or more compared to but the 2-3 minutes most potions or medicines last. They also often grant a wider suite of abilities and buffs, though not as focused as potions and medicines.
Each entry within this section will cover the effects and abilities bestowed, and in some cases the alterations of natural traits or abilities that can occur, as well as the recipe/expensive materials involved in each recipe. Each mutagenic compound recipe is broken down into three ingredients, each a family. An Alcohol, an Organic Component, and a Reactive Agent. These will always be listed in that order and 'rare' ingredients will be designated again with (Rare) beside them in brackets, denoting ingredients worth 100 gold or more per dose. The compound itself will be described as follows;
CN (Craft Number): This represents the Target Number for a Craft (Chemistry) skill check if you are making one dose of this mutagenic compound outside your daily free allotment.
Toxicity: This simply denotes the poison damage one must make a Toughness Defense Test to avoid taking upon consumption of this powerful chemical compound.
Duration: How long the effects will last.
Basic Effects: The baseline benefits the chemical provides.
Rank II Effects: The additional benefits/increased potency of the baseline benefits this chemical concoction bestows at the appropriate level of study
Rank III Effects: The additional benefits/increased potency of the baseline benefits this chemical concoction bestows at the appropriate level of study.
And so without further ado, let us explore the potent chemical family of Mutagenic Compounds.
