Hekólía
Sikíronian:
Hekólía was one of several successor states that appeared after the fall of the Paþarían Empire a thousand years ago, and ruled the southern Meldon Plain for seven and a half century. It was bordered by the territory of the Narsíans to the west, Þerakkía to the north, a disputed territory to the northeast, the coast of Gold Sea to the east and Pérgal to the south.
Like most of the successor states, the kingdom was ruled by a dynasty founded by a paþarían general, namely Arakríus, who viewed Hekólía as the true heir of Paþaría, even though the culture there generally became much more influenced by local traditions rather than paþarían ones. A notable exception to this trend were the Gold Shields, a group of elite infantry who kept many aspects of old paþarían culture alive, including the way they spoke and dressed, fought and trained, and worshipped the gods.
Overall, Hekólía remained one of the weaker successor states for most of its existence, in part due to its location as well as numerous clashes with the Narsíans to the west (both their warriors as well as fickle mercenaries) and pirates to the east, and its capital of Tökríana was and still remains little more than a town on the western coast of Gold Sea.
