Pérgal

Sikíronian: Pérgal /phjɛːrkaːl/
Pérgal (sikírska)

Pérgal was one of the successor states of the Paþarían Empire which emerged after its sudden fall a thousand years ago, and ruled over central and -to lesser extent- western Nemirkía for eight hundred years before being conquered by the Sikíron Empire. It was bordered by Núrak (and later the Kingdom of Núrak) to the west, territory of the Narsíans to the northwest, Hekólía to the north, Tirúlíon and later Sikíron to the east and the Sjorgús Mountains to the south.
The kingdom was ruled by the Zerkó dynasty, founded by the paþarían general Okkus I, with the court initially located in the city of Nális in northern Nemirkía and later moved to Krelissía to the east.
For most of its history, Pérgal was one of the most powerful kingdoms in central Adynía, particularly during the fifth and sixth centuries a.Paþ when its rulers launched a series of invasions westwards, reaching as far as modern New Anúvil in 432 a.Paþ, though the pérgali never managed to hold on to Núrak for long.
As the Núrakic Elves unified and became more formidable as a result, Pérgal's power began to decline, particularly after losing a major battle in 744 a.Paþ1, and lost most of its western territories to the núrakic elves as the pérgali were faced with the Sikíronians to the north and east.
The demise of queen Alþa Zerkó at the hands of empress Ástía of Sikíron and subsequent fall of Pérgal marked the beginning of sikíronian dominance over central Adynía.

Conquered by the Sikíron Empire in 800 a.Paþ.

1Known by the sikíronians as The Sunless Day and Battle in the Shadows among the núrakic elves. The Colossus of Anúvil was built to celebrate the latter's victory that day.
