Tristin Cambray
Prince of the Crownlands (a.k.a. The Crimson Prince)
The second-born child of the King of Dorwine, Tristin has enjoyed a life full of luxury and wealth without much responsibility. He was able to enjoy his place at court without the attention and burden his older brother shared in order to assume control of the crown. However, tragedy struck House Cambray, and the elder brother died in an accident, effectively causing the order of succession to pass down to Tristin. The king was more than upset, and initally refused to acknowledge the prince as his new heir, but soon relented. This brief pause shaped Tristin in many ways, causing him to not trust the king, and develop ambitions of his own.
It wasn't until he met Lady Lorraine of Nosirien that his plans started to escalate. He soon took control of a floundering mercantile guild he soon renamed the Crimson Syndicate and reorganized so it would perpetuate his machinations in commerce, military, and illicit activities. He felt empowered after conferring with Lady Lorraine, who turned out to be an erinyes in diguise, literally imbueing Tristin with fiendish power and aspiration. This all came at a cost, with his soul now bound to the hells of Infernum, Tristin lives like no other mortal does. He has power, wealth, and control and lives every day like its his last.

Motivation
As the so called "reluctant heir", Tristin has made it his life's mission to not only prove himself to his naysayers, but to accomplish what his predecessors had not. The Kingdom of Dorwine has been a stale and stagnant realm, with noble families controlling respective territory and oversight from the crownlands in the east. They have never looked beyond their borders to regions to the east and west. Tristin can be described as ambitious and relentless, and while inexperienced in the ways of diplomacy, he is an expert in waging war. Bloodlust has motivated the Crimson Prince since he was always trained a soldier, and as a second son his ambitions were always to lead the great host of Dorwine to battle throughout the continent. After his brother died, they aspiration never stopped, but instead shifted to a more discreet path, for the future king could not been seen purposely setting out to war.
