Barden
Government
Earl Buford Diyer tirelessly works as the Earl of Barden. As of late, he has been pressured more and more by the King of Dumont to deal with the rampant crime problem within the village. This tension has boiled down to the point that the King sent a General, General Stilven to provide overwatch for the Earl. Distrustful of General Stilven, who's ardently against any outside forces in Barden, the two have often bickered amongst themselves. The two are often at odds with one another.
Defences
A small platoon of King's Watch lazily guard the village from threats that never come. Another small garrison of Golden Guns defend the village as it's needed for trade within the Golden Wheat Road.
Industry & Trade
As one of the first pit stops of the Golden Wheat Road, the Golden Guns value the village of Barden as an essential trading post. Many merchants stop here and sell their wares before making their way to Alverholdt.
Guilds and Factions
There's one main religious building in Barden, practicing their faith to the many Evetic Saints.
Other than the Kingdom of Dumont, which the settlement of Barden pledged their allegiance too around a century ago, the Golden Guns value the village of Barden and have been fighting with various groups of thugs who have tried to strangle the trade from the Golden Wheat Road.
History
The village of Barden was mainly established around 50 years ago as a small trading outpost on the Golden Wheat Road that connects Alverholdt to Lewinholdt. Many people here are runaways or criminals from Alverholdt that have run away from the city and settled down as farmers. Or... many continue to do their crime in the small village which at that point had next to no soldiers guarding the outpost. Overtime the trading post slowly grew into the village, and since the land was given to the Diyer family, Buford Diyer became Earl of Barden.
Geography
Barden is located in the mixing point between the Flowing Oaks and the Golden Plains. The village is mainly flat and built out in a grid-like pattern. This is due to the village having no real defensive terrain, which means they have to rely on small chest high walls.
