The Kingdom of Dumont

The Kingdom of Dumont rose from the ashes of the Fall of Vhana stronger than ever. With the only political entity in the area that could harbor the runaway Medallions, the Kingdom of Dumont rose to a very prominent place. Guided under the strong hand of Zwuelon Alver, who is in his eightieth year of life, he is slowly transitioning the kingdom to it's peaceful stage, focusing on more commerce and colonialism of the Western Isles and the land around their borders.   The current struggles with the Stone Giants and the Drow that lurk underneath the Kingdom have worried the King and the local staff. What worries them more however, is the claim of Terenz Alver, the new heir of the Kingdom who is now under the tutelage of Zuelon. With the kid almost seemingly to appear out of nowhere, the cabinet wonders what this kid's positions on the Kingdom are going to be, and hoping he is easily malleable like the King is.

Structure

The Kingdom is ran directly by the King himself, Zuelon Alver. Although in his later years, he has given each city their own autonomy, he still has a firm grasp over the Kingdom itself. Specifically the cities of Doorinholdt and Lewinholdt, which have been dubbed the Sister Cities alongside Alverholdt. Each of the three cities is the main hub within the country, Lewinholdt being the economic center, Doorinholdt being the militaristic center and Alverholdt is the political center of the Kingdom.   Each city is ran by a different leader who can establish their own minor laws and their own political cabinet. For example, Lewinholdt is ran by a council of Merchant Lords with the Merchant Prince as the leader of the city. Doorinholdt has the Commandant of the city with his council of advisors under him. Each city is ran by a unique political entity as to ensure that each city stays under the control of the Kingdom.

Assets

Cities under the control of the Kingdom of Dumont:
  1. Alverholdt - The Sister City of Political Affairs. The capital of the Kingdom.
  2. Doorinholdt - The Sister City of Military Affairs.
  3. Lewinholdt - The Sister City of Economic Affairs.
  4. Barden - Small "inbetween" village connecting the cities of Alverholdt and Lewinholdt.
  5. Darusk - Northern Frontier and mainly a mining village.
  6. Tilbein - City on the Northern Reaches bordering Lake Tilbein. The farthest Northern extent of the Kingdom.
  7. Dwain - Colonial settlement outside of the Great Bay of Dumont. The farthest Western extent of the Kindgom.
  8. Arz'Tenia - T'Chai settlement that encompasses the Southern Forest. The farthest Southern extent of the Kingdom.
  9. Port Venir - A small port town that has recently grown in popularity because of the Golden Guns. This city is seen as the final pitstop before sailors make their trip to Meljabul.

History

Short Summary for the Kingdom, which originally started out as the Dumontian Confederacy between the Sister Cities. These three cities then crowned the leader of Alverholdt as the King of the new Confederacy and claimed it as a Kingdom. The Kingdom expanded North and South, but stopped at the geographic boundaries due to conflicts with the Stone Giants of the Eastern Yuleski Mountain Range, and with the independent city states of the North, and the "Swamp-People" of the South.   The Kingdom of Dumont profited massively after the fall of the city of Vhana by the hands of the Crimson Phoenix. As most of the Scattered Medallions moved their factions to the Sister Cities, the Kingdom entered a peaceful stage of colonial expansion. During this stage, the city slowly pushed their boundaries out West and incorporated the tribal peoples within those islands peacefully.

Legislative Body
What would be considered the "main" legislative body within the Kingdom would be the Sectors within Alverholdt. While they primarily focus on the city itself, the Sectors can also dictate the laws and functions within the Kingdom itself. The Law Sector and the Civics Sector specifically deal with making legislation within the Kingdom. The Affairs Sector also deals with making laws and legislation, but that sector also deals with diplomacy with foreign nations or factions.
