I don't know where to begin. My mind is full of so many thought , so I will try and put them down on paper the best I can. Six days ago I was having fun with Meriel at the festival of Qhiena after winning the tournament when we hear screaming. At first we thought it was just loud celebration until we show the fire and people running away. I tried to stop someone to find out what was going on but was knocked over. Then I decided to be brave even though I was scared to death, and went to see what was going on. That's when I was goblins and other horrible creature destroying things. Then a hyena and some humanoid thing came after me. I got the hyena but the other thing was killing me and just as I was dying Gerrart came and killed it. He told me later he once knew that person.
Then I woke up with Gerrart at my side in a makeshift hospital. I did get visit from that Lich Daethum the Immortal while I was lingering between life and death. He gave me more power and it was painful! But I did learn a few more spells. I hate being his errand boy, or girl I guess.
After I awoke I questioned Gerrart about what was going on. He told me that we are under siege and that was hard to wrap my head around that bit of news. Meriel was fine and has been nursing others and me. Garret told me his news but nothing will be done until we can help all the people left escape his city safely. I will try and help the best I can.
After that talk Meriel brought me some food. I didn't realize how hungry I was until the food arrived and I stuffed my face happily I asked Meriel how she was doing and that poor flower fell into sobs after I hug her. This has been hard for her and I proud of how hard she is trying. She wasn't better but I was glad to be her shoulder to cry on.
I better go, I have meeting to attend in 45 minutes.

My victory
Today was the festival of Qhiena. And Meriel gave me a beautiful heart-stone that glows when someone you love is thinking about you. Then I paid one gold coin to fight again this year, maybe fourth time is the charm. I was so excited to try and beat Roland, and guess what? I did! The first fight was hard cause I wanted to use my crossbow, not my magic. I have been so worried about using my magic too much. People look at me weird already, but when I use my magic, I notice people look all nervous around me or hate me. I don't maybe I am just a worry wart, and that's not my thing; that's Meriel's thing. But I did end up winning that battle. The second battle was essay; after that one, I felt ready for Roland. During one of my breaks, he tried to annoy me and bring my spirits down, but I snarked at him, and he walked away. During my last break, I went to see Gerrart, and I overheard him talk to a man I'd never seen before. He was talking about leaving for Aston on the morrow. I wonder what that was all about.
