Stormfall Crown
Ceremonial crown of the king of the Kingdom of Qethanvale.
Manufacturing process
Kraton Vasherton a former knight of Aefeodel took several large peices from the Treasury of the Kairndern Castle during its sacking. Following the Terrible Divorce he settled in Bellsforge. A year later, when a king was going to be crowned, Vasherton offered up a peice from his collection. What is believed to be a chalice, was melted down by Waylin the Smith and hammered into the crown's frame. Jewels from the same collection were set in the crown before it was cooled and transfered in secret to Oured the week of the crowning.
History
Dating back to the Terrible Divorce the gold used in the forging of the Stormfall Crown was taken during the sacking of Kairndern Castle, from the keep's very vaults, it was created in the fires of the Old Forge south of Bellforge. It has been used in the crowning of all of the Kings of Qethanvale, including Elefrant the Communicator.
Legend has it that the crown was still warm when it was placed on Elefrant's head, though it's unlikely given Bellforge is more than a weeks ride from Oured.
Elefrant through King Thanda II wore the Stormfall Crown daily.
During the long reign of King Krake, a new, lighter crown was made for Krake's Golden Jubilee. Since then, the Stormfall Crown has been used mostly ceremonially, for crowning of the kings and large events.
Significance
The Stormfall Crown was forged specifically for the crowning of King Elefrant, the first King of Qethanvale. Its rich history has since made it into something of a holy relic.
