Kalvasto - Session 2 - "Ambush in the Gnarlwoods" - Also Entitled "Sad Sloppy Joe Stories"

General Summary

In the late afternoon of the 24th of Eagle's Dawn, our intrepid heroes found themselves surrounded by a group of mysterious undead in the Gnarlwoods. An undead goliath in heavy plate armor charged the group head on and in a desperate move Jovina shoulder-checked the undead captain into a patch of Lurkvine where he remained for most of the battle. The skirmish continued with Jovina almost being disembowled by an undead with a pickaxe and a combination of a well placed first level burning hands and a potion assist by Nala saved her life. One skeleton after being forgotten about by the DM peaced out and buried itself back underground. An undead warrior tried to free its captain but the icy conditions in a frozen pond had rendered its techniques uselsess and it fell back into the lake after doing absolutely nothing as well, much to the lament of the DM whose plans were once again foiled. The only thing the group had in their path blocking their escape was a massive undead goliath who had managed to get free. Nyx used Chromatic orb to annihilate the skeleton boss and Jovina did that "Mailbox baseball bat thing" and destroyed the final skeleton while hanging on to the side of the cart.
After the long and harrowing combat that day, the group decided to set up camp early and tend to their wounds. Nyx buried Arhot Kegsunder's axe and Nala chose not to reveal the hidden note that was contained in the hilt. Wilmer, Nyx, Nala, and Jovina ended up around the campfire swapping stories and eating "Sad Sloppy Joes". The conversation eventually turned to how everyone had ended up with the Rallac's. Nyx revealed that he had tried to turn in his own bounty and that he was from a much hotter place. Jovina revelaed that she was originally from the "North of Allerheim", but she seemed that she cannot go back or is unwilling too. After everyone else had gone to bed, Iryon and WIlmer took the first wath. Wilmer told Nyx the story about how he had been a merc in Allerheim and their was an eccentric gnome that claimed to be a pirate that threw a massive party and was called "Arhan, Aryon, something like that." He also told Nyx that rumor has it that the "Black" In Arhan's name reffered to a bad fungal foot infection.
