Beartown
The village that the Bugbear have built for themselves in the new world very much reflects the nature of their species. Furtive, secretive, mistrustful and very, very well hidden. Most cartographers and explorers agree that Beartown exists, but few can accurately point out where exactly it is on a map, and fewer still can describe how to get there and actually find the village. And that is exactly how its Bugbear population prefer it.
Given the natural aptitude for stealth that Bugbears as a species possess, the presence of the village can often be felt even though its denizens are rarely spotted. Game is hunted, monsters are slain and travelers watched. In the rare instances that a bugbear from the village is spotted, or lets itself be spotted, it is often to deliver warning to travelers who might be drawing too close to the village, or more commonly, as the last thing many a traveler and explorer see before they are cut down by a hail of arrows in a sudden ambush.
The only other settlement on Aelcantar that Beartown has any official relations with is the goblinoid settlement of Gobshire on the east coast, and even then only so far as bugbear officials visiting their fellow goblinoids, never the other way around.
