The Oasis

The Oasis is the sole settlement occupying the large nameless desert covering the southwestern corner of the continent. The city gains its name from the large oasis it is built around, the sole source of water in the entire desert, supplied by the adjacent precursor ruin, a queer arrangement of portals through which pours water at a steady pace all hours of the day.
The presence of the oasis and portal array alike has led to a lot of traffic moving through the Oasis. Be it adventurers going to explore the array of portals to plunder treasures from other dimensions, or caravans bound for further inland taking a shortcut through the desert and stopping to refill supplies at the only location possible. The Oasis profits from it all, and the merchant lords who run the city have grown very rich of all the trade flowing through the city.
