StarSingers

The StarSingers were a group of elves in Herbreous who, seeing the arrogance of the elven people, had set themselves apart from the six clans. They became traders and explorers, building ships and sailing the oceans of Aeleon seeking new lands and trading in goods with others.   It was a group of such explorers who discovered the continent of Ma'urwol. Seeing in this place a potential new homeland for the StarSinger people, they kept it hidden from all others, especially other elves. For years, more and more of their people were brought from the old world to the new.   Soon, they established for themselves a kingdom on Ma'urwol and called it Silverstar.   Over time, they came to be as arrogant as the old clans. Seeing this, some of their people split off and formed a new group, the WoodSingers.   Eventually, other races came to Ma'urwol and conflict arose. Tired of abuse and near slavery conditions, the WoodSingers would side with these newcomers. Over the course of several wars, Silverstar and its StarSinger people would be all but wiped out.   As a people, the StarSingers no longer exist. Those few who survived the wars were eventually absorbed into other societies.

Observatories are common.   Given their love of the stars, one thing they greatly dislike is light at night. Unlike many great cities, the cities of the StarSingers are largely dark at night. It is common law in their cities, that no light may shine forth after the first watch of the night.
