Birth of the Ruvenig Empire

Era beginning/end

-2800 BF the birth of an Empire

once united in the land of Ruven. the Air caste looked beyond their boarders and set out to unify the world for the greater good against the raising void.

The high elves had crossed the quiet sea with a fleet of ships carrying thousands of well-disciplined soldiers, organised into a machine of war the likes of which had never been seen before. They had come in the name of the great unification and landed outside the peaceful fire caste city of Apolay, a beautiful coastal city shrouded in picturesque white marble mountains.   Tar’Quinn stood before the city walls with a host of glistening spear tips at his back and a white haired sage at his side. He flashed a politicians smile, held his arms out wide in mock embrace as he casually stepped towards the city. the city guard, crowded against the ramparts by the press of citizens who’d come to gawk at the invaders, looked out at the 10000 strong army before them. A figure wearing a crown of pure light addressed the city.   ‘I Tar’Quin Grand Julius of the high elves, first amongst equals, magistar of the college of Aer and first king of all the elves, have come here personally to welcome you on this momentous day into the new Ruvenig empire… ‘   The wars.   At first the war was direct, brutal and ugly. The elves of the fire caste were fierce warriors, noble and brave with the finest arms and armour of any elven caste, no High elf could hope to match the best of them in single combat, but against a disciplined and organised forces of the air caste, the fire elves were at a disadvantage. The individual city states were little match for the unified and well supplied forces of the air caste, but their skill in combat was undeniable and for all the logistical and technical superiority of the high elves, the conquest, which was entering its 5th century was proving difficult to achieve. Towards the end of the war increasingly Devastating magics were unleashed by both sides as they sought an advantage over their advisory.   casualties were mounting and the increasingly reckless use of magic had left its scares on the land.   Void beast, larger than any mortal had ever seen before started arriving in ever increasing numbers. Drawn towards the chaos and easy pickings a war ravaged land presented, they feasted on the elves and magical creatures who dwelt there.   It was Aga the Lord of Spacia, the last city state to defy the High elves who sought peace, he saw the void born were the true threat, the war had gone on for too long, too many of his kin had died and there was no end to their torment. Aga summoned Tarquinn to his halls and against the judgment of his stubborn nobles, pledged fealty to the kingdom of Ruven.   And so it was, the High Elves had conquered the Sun elves and the Ruvenig Empire was born, Tar’quinn was no Emperor. He sat on a throne of woven gold bathed in the light of his crown, eyes sunken and weary beyond his years, his trusted Advisor had done it again, his glory would know no bounds.   In time the Ruvenig empire, ruled over by a hereditary Emperor wearing a crown of pure light came to encompass most of Aelwed and all but one of the castes found the roles and properly place within the new empire. All of course, except the shadow elves.
