All the best stories, the ones that children remembered, were about Actorus Moore, legendary Grand Mage. Boys grew up wishing they were alive two thousand years ago so that they could fight with him. Many tales told of the tall, imposing wizard. Of his incredible power, and absolute justice. How he almost singlehandedly defeated the Hand of Shadow, a coalition of foul beasts the world had never seen. How Moore scourged them with lightning and broke the largest army in recorded history. How the cowardly Shadow had fled the battlefield, leaving his armies to be destroyed. How Moore pursued Shadow for years, never finding him.

Not much is known about Moore, only what was passed down in stories. The tales say he was the youngest member of The Council ever. He was the first and only Grand Mage. He devoted most of his long life to find and destroy a mysterious person known only as Shadow. He was a tragic figure in the stories, but in his prime incredibly powerful.
