Once an adventurer from The Commonwealth of Phaedros, the birthplace of the Caelian Empire, Ajax is renowned as a warrior of immense physical stature, tremendous tactical intelligence, and unspeakable ruthlessness. Descended from the Caelian Emperors of old (or so he believes), Ajax cares only for battle and conquest. He aspires to rule over a united Vasloria and Caelia, restoring the old borders of the Caelian Empire, thus establishing himself as the greatest conqueror in history.
Ajax was born in the fighting pits of Nikaea, the most brutal of the Commonwealth city-states, and was raised knowing nothing but combat. By age 12, he had begun killing in the arena, and by 17 he was renowned as one of the Commonwealth's greatest warriors. Able to dispatch man and beast alike with terrifying strength and precision, "Ajax The Invincible" became a favorite of the nobility. As a result of his upbringing, Ajax views life as a struggle for survival, wherein the strong raise themselves up and the weak are destroyed.
Eventually freed by his noble patrons, Ajax formed an adventuring company and took on jobs throughout The Commonwealth, explored the Timeless Jungle and the fabled city-state of Khartoum, and even served as a mercenary in Aendrim during the wars against the Howling Skull Orcs. Alongside his companions Ajax grew powerful, gathering magical artifacts and ancient lore throughout their travels, before eventually discovering a fallen Sky Elf citadel half-buried in the Myr Mountains. Mortum, Ajax's wizard and adviser, unlocked the secret to raising the Elf city into the sky once again.
After raising the citadel (now known as the Korraj) into the sky, Ajax and his companions plotted their rise to power. Through ancient, arcane rituals, Mortum fashioned the War Breed, an unholy mix of Orc and Human, to serve as Ajax's foot soldiers.
