Long ago, in the year 381, the small country of Aethiya began a golden age of technological advancement after stumbling across a supernatural source of energy. They quickly began expanding their influrnce through diplomacy and imperial conquest. Generous gifts of highly advanced devices served as a great negotiating tool, while their vast army and merciless tactics proved an effective deterrant to refusal. The Orcs, Lizardfolk, dwarves, and other races soon joined the Aethiyans in alliance, their borders swallowing those territories into a vast empire that dwarfed any that came before.
