Silvering
Transmission & Vectors
Silvering is contracted through ingestion, and is only transmissible by birth.
Causes
Silvering is often knowingly caused by the ingestion on large quantities of silver over a period of time, or the repeated ingestion of colloidal silver. Silvering is more often than not a side effect of religious practices.
It is also possible to unknowingly contract Silvering by drinking water which erodes a substantial silver vein.
Symptoms
In its early stages silvering induces vomiting, and diarrhea. In middle stages it begins to cause flu-like symptoms. In its late stages Silvering may result in liver failure, and causes skin to turn a blue-grey hue.
Prognosis
Silvering usually results in long-term sickness of which it is possible to recover, assuming the afflicted hasn't surpassed the middle stages of the condition. If the afflicted has gotten to the point of bluing it is entirely likely they will never recover fully (the bluing is typically permanent), it is also very likely that they'll die of liver cirrhosis, especially if they are prone to the consumption of alcohol or uncooked and/or fatty foods.
Prevention
To prevent this condition, simply don't consume silver.
