The Wish of the Sleeping Forest
Legends say, that when you are willing to give up your life to save another that you hold dead, you may walk into the Sleeping Forest to get your wish fulfilled. Even though nobody ever returned from their journey, tales of wondrous healing of the gravely ill spread fast throughout the land, always tied back to this legend.
Myth or Truth?
Sveva, the goddess of Hope, Renewal and Suffering is the one that caused this myth to become more than just that. After seeing that many people were willing to give up everything to save someone they love, she made it her mission to answer these calls for help. Most souls just wandered the forest forever until they died for no reason, looking for the faint glimmer of hope, not giving up. These days, Sveva will show herself to you and grant you your wish if you are of pure intention, then guiding you outside of the forest to Eversummer, where you will wake up without memories but sometimes your first name or a familiar job that you might have once practiced. The First Wonder
The first ever person that Sveva granted his wish was Ansger Dagort, who entered the forest after a coin flip with his brother Rolland Dagort to save his gravely ill but still loving mother. The deity healed the disease that was plaguing her and led Answer to Eversummer, where he later founded Cynnes, a town for all the lost souls who gave their old lives - even though they will never remember their heroic deeds. Rolland stayed behind and founded the Memories Rest inn, where travelers would still leave behind letters and belongings to their loved ones, knowing they would never return from their journey.Spread
From Rhondam to the bustling ports of Greenriver and Freecrossing, the legend of the Sleeping Forest spread. Skeptics were plentiful, yet in times of desperate need, many found themselves drawn to this tale, willing to believe that love could transcend even the boundaries of life and memory.
