Cynnes

Cynnes is the only town in Eversummer, an enchanted part of the land where crops are grown all year-around. This effects is caused by the Dew Drop Creek, a river that flows all the way from the Azuremist, and through Hailstone Peak. As of late the river has begun to dry up with the migration of the Isidar, the Avalanche to the Frozen Lake after a conflict with the wizard Anteus Esteban.
Originally the town was settled by people who came through the Sleeping Forest, lost their memories, and couldn't find a way out through the mountains. Due to the Azuremist's magically infused water, some of the villagers can cast simple magic (cantrips), even though most of them are not of elven blood.

History

Cynnes was founded in the year 142 by Ansger Dagort after he lost his memories passing through the Sleeping Forest. Only remembering his 1st name and a little bit or woodworking he did what he could to built a home first for only himself, but later also for other souls who arrived on this side of the forest.

Defenses

Surrounded by sheer impassable mountains and the memory wiping Sleeping Forest, Cynnes has a very strong natural defense and no need for walls or military. The lone town guard is only patrolling the farmlands in case of some scarce animal attacks or some minor conflict between the town's inhabitants themselves.

Government

Cynnes is ruled by the town elder, if ever a decision needs to be made or a problem can't be solved by the parties alone. The whole community is very welcoming to strangers, as many of them have been in their shoes at some point, except the few souls who have been born here.

Points of Interest

A unique sight offers the Manatree to everyone who lays their eyes upon it. At first glance it may seem like an old willow tree, if it weren't for its shining leafs glistening blue at night. Lights of the size of large fireflies, ranging from yellow to blue and purple color, are dancing between the twigs at all times. The ground up tree leaves are used as a base for potions and teas, even though their magicall effects declined since the river stopped carrying a lot of magic.
