The Maeg Anri

Weavers of Destiny

Before the world fractured, before the Sundering cleaved reality itself, walked the Maeg Anri. They weren't petty spellcasters, but titans who wielded the very threads of existence. Legends whisper they were akin to gods, weaving life itself into being. It is said they birthed the monstrous Demons, and even the once-noble Belaithin before them. Yet, their power proved a double-edged sword – their creations spun out of control.   The Maeg Anri vanished with the Sundering, leaving only a chilling mystery. Did they fade before the high elves' arrogance shattered the world, or were they somehow entangled in the cataclysm itself? In the frozen north, whispers turn to dread. The nation of Mordeth and the Emberhold Confederacy stand vigilant, fearing the Maeg Anri may have retreated into the treacherous Mountains of Glass.   While some scoff at the notion of these god-like wizards returning, the northern lands bear a grim testament: the ograir. Monstrous hulks with bestial heads, they are a twisted echo of the Maeg Anri's power. Their existence serves as a chilling reminder – the Maeg Anri may be lost to time, but their legacy of twisted magic lingers, a constant threat on the wind-whipped plains of the north.
I heard that a member of the Nighthawks was captured once by the Maeg Anri and escaped, but not without consequences. This Nighthawk came back with a Demon in his head, spouting insanity. A repeated phrase his interrogators heard was "The voice... it's in their minds too!"
