Facial Features

Ballantyne maintains a clean-shaven face, and white teeth. His hair is never unkempt, and his eyes peer into a person, looking deep.

Apparel & Accessories

Ballantyne always dresses impeccably, but not fancy. His apparel is clean, in excellent repair, and functional. He is not a fan of the furs that Lord Galfreh favours, preferring to wear thicker, but well-fitting clothes, and a smart jacket.
He sometimes likes to wear his armour out in public to remind people he is a Knight of Curceon (and even to remind himself).

Specialized Equipment

Ballantyne's armour has the special property of being impervious to dirt or markings. A gift from Lord Galfreh to his friend for his tireless work and devotion, it is the pride of Ballantyne.

Personal history

In his past, Ballantyne was stationed in Calderwood at the same time as Derrick Galfreh, and the two hit it off immediately. Both men were nobles in the city of Essillion, and both took up the oath to serve Curceon and the Guardians of the Watchful Eye. They talked often, and for long periods, and Ballantyne was impressed with his friend's determination, grit, and stubbornness.
Ballantyne helped Derrick woo Mary while they were in Calderwood, and he was the best man and second at their wedding. When Derrick was called back to Essillion he arranged for his friend to join him and they served together under Lord Byras.
When Derrick left Essillion in frustration, to make his own way in the north with Mary, Ballantyne followed, serving under Derrick loyally and to this day.

Employment

Serving as both a castellan, guard, and advisor, Ballantyne has the ear of Lord Galfreh, and he may speak on behalf of the Lord in official matters. Galfreh relies on his friend for much of the running of the town and is not shy to recognize the efforts and contributions Ballantyne makes.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Ballantyne has spent much of his past ten years getting Harvestshield defensible, and efficient. He has done a remarkable job of keeping the Lord's Manor, and the town running smoothly.

Intellectual Characteristics

A keen mind to order, and a vigilant eye to root out mischief, Ballantyne is the bane of ne'er do wells, and children. He maintains an orderly and structured house, his attention to detail is strong, and he ensures his people hold to his strict standards.
To those who put their best effort forward, he gives them lattitude, but to those who try to avoid honest work, he shows disdain and impatience.
