Byras Highstance

Byras Highstance is the High Cleric of Curceon's church in Essillion, and the head of the King's Council.  He was previously a high member of the Guardians of the Watchful Eye and a proud and staunch Guardian, but needed to step down from that organization in order to show impartiality in the ruling of the church of Curceon.
Byras is a dedicated defender of the city of Essillion in all its forms, including the bureaucracy, religious strength, and infrastructure of the city.  He is not always the most popular with the citizenry, but those that need structure and order have come to rely on Byras' excellent support.  
Byras is in control of the religious aspects of the city, including all the churches and priests. Places of worship for all the Shards of Alucar can be found in Essillion. Byras meets with each high priest once every moon to ensure the Rules of Tolerance are met. At times silent wars rage among the different temples, and can spill over into the streets, but Byras does a good job of containing them and preventing the common citizen from being affected.  Currently Byras heads the church of Curceon located at Knightheart Abbey.
