The Cithereth
The Cithereth are ancient Wood Elves that steadfastly guard The Aspenshield Forest from those that would do it harm. Their name literally means 'warden (cith) of the earth (ereth)' in Avariel. They are not unfriendly with the Elves of Aspenshield and accept the rule of the Crystal Queen, but they do not congregate in the cities of the Elves. Their connection to Aspenshield and the Crystal Queen diminishes every day. They maintain a few common gathering sites, but they are mostly mobile throughout the forest. They are led by an old Elven ranger named Eravan Sylvanwrath, who has spent a lot of his time befriending the beasts of the Aspenshield to the exclusion of anything else. His devout followers keep his philosophy alive and strong but there are many who have strayed from The Cithereth path and have either started their own smaller tribes, or have made their way back to the city of Aspenshield. The Cithereth are shrinking in number but not in purpose.
