Spellclash

Spellclash is a professional sport that is played throughout Aerois. It involves a battle between at least two spellcasters who are protected by a magical shield. When the shield of the spellcaster is broken, they are defeated.
Other general rules:

• No mundane weapons allowed
• No hitting defeated opponents after they have been defeated
• The magical barrier can be regenerated by filling it with magical energy
• Any showy moves may give a boon to the participant.

In general, spell clash is often a duel between two participants since high-level magic is limited in Aerois. Most participants go by stage names and use extravagant outfits to gain favour and boons from the crowd. There is usually one tournament in Suvonna each year with the finals taking place in Goldthrone.
