The Sundering
As the Dark War and his commanders came down in person to directly confront Siaska. In a final battle, Calus defeated the head goddess Siaska. As she lay dying, she used the last of her divinity to erect The Cradle and banish most of Starbane's forces away from Aerois. See his mother die, Atellicus thrust his spear into the ground, splitting Aerois.
Aerois, which was once a single continent, split up and fractures. Large chasms appeared underneath cities, oceans swallowed towns, and one-flat plains became treacherous mountains. Both the remains of Starbane's forces and Aerosians alike suffered under this cataclysmic event. Many of the gods protected their children as best as they could. H'espa raised seven cities into the air to protect them, Zephyr took pity on the brave souls that were drowning and turned them into the Tritons, and Atellicus created the Demi-Humans in the hope that they would survive their new home. Starfall Archipelago, where Atellicus first drove his spear into the ground is still ravaged by a magical maelstrom and the one-united Aerois became as fractured as their home. The gods, in the grief of their mother's death, retreated to the Halls of Infinite Resplendance and now observe Aerois from afar. Fortunately, united by their mutual grief, the Aerosians worked together to rebuild society. The gods helped as they could. H'espa created the Sayanna
