The Hunger

The Hunger exists in the depths of all our minds and fears. When food is scarce it whispers from the shadows offering an alternative, a way of earning power and revenge whilst satiating that hunger that can never be satiated. With the blessing of The Hunger all of this can be earned through the cannibalisation of others each bite granting you your targets strength and power. Yet the more you feast the more you begin to transform into The Hunger's true champion as your body and form alters and cracks, your skin putrefies and you become a monstrous ghoul driven only by your unending desire for flesh.
The Hunger was a beholder in its past life exercising great power over the Realm of Chaos but desiring to once more cause havoc upon the Realm of Balance that it had crossed in the days of the War of the Realms. In a powerful ritual channelling a range of magics and tricks The Hunger managed to access the infinite corridors and pass through the void yet the journey was not as expected. As with all that make the crossing the journey depends on the reliability of the passage and with his own magic sustaining the path The Hunger was torn apart in mind, body and soul leaving much of the beholder that was and preserving only the hunger for power. 
The Hunger feeds on the souls of those consumed by it's champion gaining strength on their spirit as its champion does on its flesh. For this reason The Hunger does not seek it's own domain as much as some of the other powers. Such a trapping would be a hunting ground and serve only in value if new prey were to enter to be consumed.
