Bloody Knuckles Gang
Within the Hilts Spear District is a group of extremely violent individuals, running illegal fighting pits and smuggling through the docks. The Bloody Knuckles are territorial and seem to always crop up even when large raids and arrests are taken against them. They're far less inconspicuous in their operations compared to the other two major gangs running in the Hilt, instead running open protection rackets against Spear District businesses, starting small scale battles against anything that appears as a push on their territory, and intimidating guards rather than bribing them.
The Bloody Knuckles started as a small underground fighting group that grew in the 460s as the market for smuggling across the sea grew. Soon they were trading in Slant and dwarven spirits, as well as stolen goods. This progressed into more or less open control over various blocks in the Spear District in the late 460s, with guards refusing to enter some parts of the district. In 473 a number of raids were conducted throughout the Spear by guard companies from other districts. It even saw one of the Wyvern riders participating, though at a distance as to avoid major damage. Multiple arrests and more than a few deaths occurred throughout the weekend, known as the Weekend of Fists. This would see a collapse in gang activity for 4 years as they rebuilt operations.
The Bloody Knuckles still have a large control over the Spear district, but do more to avoid major tangles with the law or with upper Hilt control. They still much more open in their operations, using fear and numbers to keep the guards or others off of them but they also avoid taking major swaths of territory and don't claim any city blocks as their own anymore.
The Bloody Knuckles respect strength. The heads of their organisation have all been pit fighters who showed strength and strategy in the pit.
