Royal Artists Guild

Created by the Lord of the Walls Joy Symons during her retirement, the RAG is a collection of artists, bards, and creatives from around Requiem. Functioning as both community hall for discussion of art and market place, the RAG explored various forms in hopes of better exposing artists to the general public, and increasing appreciation in art found in Requiem.    The RAG does this by funding and hosting art shows, theatre productions, and musical concerts. This helps bring attention to the guilds members and allows the RAG to get a kick back from the tickets sold. The RAG also charges for entry into the guild, with a fairly steep payment required to have its administration look at your work and start you on the way to full membership. Full members can receive coin to work on special projects, assistance in putting on shows, and gain access to the RAGs vaults of classic work.    The RAG do not have the market cornered when it comes to artistic endeavours and many chose to avoid them. They have a reputation for being costly and old fashioned. Musicians in particular are starting to change genres into something far more exciting, and are using new instruments not entirely condoned by the RAG leading a butting of heads between old school RAG approved music and new school street music.     The RAG is still popular and a sign of artistic talent that many actors and painters almost need the approval of to perform or sell to certain classes of people. A lord would never hang a painting up unless from an RAG artist, and a bard will never play in court unless they are a member of the RAG, but street level the RAG has had troubles keeping up with general tastes.    The RAG logo is a theatre tragedy/comedy mask with a crossed violin bow and paintbrush behind it.
