Wanderlust Cartography Guild
Aesteria is not entirely explored, many corners of it have not been seen by mortals. And many more places change as time passes on and on. Wanderlust seeks to keep the world mapped often in order to make sure governments and adventurers have the correct data at all times. When word comes of a location that has changed or a map that may be outdated, it's often Wanderlust who sends out a team to explore and properly map the area.
Wanderlust employees expedition teams, often a single or pair of cartographers and a small group of ancillary staff such as guards, cooks, healers, and sometimes historians. These staff members are paid by the guild but are not always direct guild members. Sometimes they are independent contractors, interested parties and investors, and individuals from other guilds.
Wanderlust makes its coin by selling the maps they create. Since they map not only cities and geographic features but also dungeons, cave systems, and places of interest their maps are popular among adventuring guilds. They're also extremely popular among those looking to settle or build upon land. They also sell these maps to governmental bodies, often updating data that is out of date for places like Requiem and Vanreth. They also recieve a lot of work in the Hastlands, mapping tunnels and routes through their branch across the sea.
