Personal history
Foresight has lived a relatively quiet life up until about a month ago. His father, Neuon (said as: Knee-you-on) was a hermit pushed far back in the forests of Obscura; in a cave almost touching the border of Noctus. He’d spent a surprisingly short 15 years in this cave without so much as a hint of humanity to bother him in his self imposed isolation before his peaceful meditation was interrupted by one of the most pivotal moments of his life. Just before Neuon fell into his meditative slumber he heard desperate running through the brush near his cave, heavy, exhausted breathing, and the faintest cries of a woman going into labor. Being a man of healing, he could not ignore this distressed soul and went out to aid her: bringing her inside of the cave, creating water, and heating it. He gave her medicines to help with her pain before getting to work helping this tired woman bring new life into the world and after 5 of the longest hours of their lives a new candle was lit with a babe’s cry and another was extinguished with a warm smile, a touch to the cheek, and a quiet sigh. With that, Neuon was left with a child and their late mother laying on his only bedroll in his cave.
Obviously, being a man committed to learning for the sake of teaching Neuon saw this as an opportunity pass a small bit of his knowledge onto his first pupil, one yet untouched by the world at large. As well as a chance to learn from a soul new to this world. And learn he did; as time passed the child seemed to mature rather quickly. After learning how to speak, he rarely did. Instead the boy would listen to everything said to him, only nodding his head in silent understand so as to not interrupted or speak over his teacher. Until he got onto matters of divinity. Even before the age of 10 whenever the subject was brought up the child found himself asking questions and with each answered 3 more would sprout from his mind. There was never focused topic: Nirvana, The Abyss, Heavens, Demiplanes, Domains, the Gods, Devils, Paladins, God Cursed, anything and everything even tangentially related was on the table for discussion.
Through this study, the young man learned that he had abilities that he’d not gained through any amount of study or devotion. No pact was made nor any boon given to him. He simply had a gift to create light in the palm of his hand and link it to an object or animal. Once he could make the light last more than a few moments before flickering out he showed Neuon and with that display of minor power he saw true surprise on his father’s face for the first time in his life. This look was followed by a look of utter confusion, fear, frustration, and finally elation. And with that elation came more scrolls and text, yet unseen by the newly named Foresight. Scrolls covered in divine incantation and measured motions. Some with physical items required in exchange for invoking divine might.
These books brought a new level of study to Sight on top of his initial studies but with this new information came tangible results. They were slow to come; only a small spark or glass of water at first but eventually over years of practice he learned minor miracles and with each miracle earned another bit of energy he could convert into pure healing power. But of course with only pages and words to teach him his growth stagnated rather quickly with only minor improvements on his techniques and his output of miracles a week. Sight did eventually learn how to heal without the expenditure of his other miracles, though with much less strength behind them. This progression of mystic might eventually crawled to a stall without much need for practical application however, leaving Sight to go back to his other studies and meditating on his less mundane abilities to ensure his mind does not forget them. Of course this slow in progress was eventually noticed by Neuon and a new piece of curriculum was added to Foresight’s plan. To go out and experience the forest and what it has to offer. The same day he was told of this, Sight was shunted out of the caves and into nature, not for a short trip but to spend days out kilometers from his home with only a few hours of preparation before hand. It started off well enough. He saw several birds feeding their young, and some small woodland creatures scurrying across forest floor.
One the first day out, nothing eventful happened. He simply found a comfortable clearing to set up camp and meditated while listening to the sounds of nature. His following days were filled with exploration, moving further and further from home. The only noteworthy events during his first excursion were thus: Upon still meditation Sight learned that animals will eventually find his presence curious enough to approach him and after relaxing around him, will allow him to interact with them without fleeing. In the time after this day Sight began to feel an eerie feeling of being watched or stalked. This feeling continued until the final day of his explorative trip at which point while packing up Foresight could hear a terrible scraping sound just behind me. After a few seconds he realized that it was something scratching across the back of his armour and he jump forward and turned around to see a terrifying pair of red eyes staring him down from behind the brush; black tendrils with barbs at the end ready to slash through any flesh they touch. The still rather young Foresight knew that he was outmatched from just a look and began to run, putting everything he could between himself and the monstrosity. The creature was far more familiar with the wooded lands than Sight, however and quickly closed the distance pouncing at him and biting at him. It’s teeth cracked a shoulder piece of his armour, the leather strap splitting with ease. In the dingy darkness, his armour that shown as if it were in the sunlight was a big target for the creature especially when contrasted with Sight’s dingy grey cloak underneath. Every strike from the creature created crack after crack on his late mother’s armour piece as its wearer continued to run on. Until there he was met with a rather abrupt lacking of ground beneath his feet and wind quickly rushing past his face from a rapid plummet downwards. Above him was the creature, sprinting far too fast to stop itself after meeting the cliff’s edge and followed with its full speed carrying it forward quite a bit further than Sight. The next thing to Sight remembers is waking up half submerged in a small pond at the bottom of the cliff, the panther-like creature only a few meters away in a crumpled heap where it landed on the hard stoney ground.
Foresight made his way around the forest until he eventually found his way back to the cave to tell his father about his near death encounter and how he likely wouldn’t be going out to collect the camping equipment any time soon. A considerable time past without anything else interesting happening besides a few chance encounters, sometimes with wounded animals needing to be brought in and back to health, sometimes finding a treasure trove of herbs for his father’s curatives, and a meeting with a particularly crestfallen Nymph. Sight, at the time, didn’t know how dangerous Nymphs can be and that he could have left their meeting permanently blinded but instead they had a simple conversation about lost love and hope for the future followed by a few hours of unimportant topics simply for Sight to speak to this new person for a while longer and help her relax from her and pull her from her dower mood. But like all good things their meeting eventually came to an end, a kiss from a Nymph to celebrate their first and final meeting. This was the last incident of note in Sight’s life until a short while from the adventure’s start. His father disappeared with only a note on his study desk.
Child, we have reached the limits of what we may teach each other
but we have not nearly come near the upper reaches of enlightenment. I have taken the liberty of being the first to leave and I expect you will soon do the same. Take the time required to study the maps and chart your route thoroughly, take all that you need to make your journey, and try to locate some allies. Your knowledge of healing may be above average, but your physique leaves much to be wanted. Just be well child and remember your lessons.

And with that Sight began preparation for his first exodus to the North. He took a full week to prepare for leaving the only home he’s ever know. After preparations were complete, Foresight took off towards adventure in hopes of supplementing his general book knowledge with some good ol fashion life learning.
At current he’s still wondering towards Stormbluff, exhausted from his travels and ready to have a comfortable bed to lay his head after so many days in on the road.
