The ominous name of this ship somehow does it justice, capturing its spirit and deprecated appearance and brutal history. Even if only half of the stories are true, the fall from disgrace has lost more battles than even the most venerated and veteran ship of the line. Being the first ship to be upgraded to a whisperwood ship from a regular one by the shipwright keyne and sons, its status as one of the shadow right flagships has been disputed by some. The other requirement, being a pirate vessel of legendary renown, no-one dares challenge or dispute; the scars of battle are etched into its deck with fire, blood, and ash.
Flag
Its flag is a white shattered human skull on a field of black.
History
Its long and bloody history of service combined with the tendency of seafarers to both spin and embellish tall tales makes it difficult to say what the true history of this ship is. In particular, the origins of the ship before it was retrofitted with a whisperwood keel is a story much contested in the alehouses of shadowright. One could ask its veteran crew, most of which are noticeably more experienced and significantly older as found on other pirate ships, but they remain tight-lipped about the whole affair, leaving only the ship itself. But neither does its design offer any conclusive evidence about its origins. The ship has been nearly completely rebuilt at least two times, excluding its retrofit in shadowright.
Captain
Johnson 'Iron Chest' Fiske has been the captain of the fall from disgrace for as long as anyone can remember.
