Gavela

Architect of Earth, All-Mother, Stone Matron

The mother Architect of the Astrals, and sister to Bayala; Gavela is the Astral goddess of the earth and motherhood. Many kinds speak their prayers to Gavela for a chance at motherhood or for the safety of one's children. Others may pray to her for the fertility of land, hoping for bountiful harvests and the sweet fruits. She is a large, dark-skinned woman with large round figure and a broad bosom. She is rarely depicted with clothes, though sometimes a small cloth covering her waist and a single teat and usually with a child on the other.

Holidays

Eìs Eìtear; the day meant to celebrate "Mother who provides" is a season of Architects day in which families will spend time together over a feast. In the weeks leading up to Eìs Eìtear each member of the family is meant to forgo certain benefits, such as extra spending money or luxuries, in order to better save for the grand day that they will spend with their families. Those who have ample food and luxury will usually leave gifts for those without a family, left in decorative containers that represent a gift from Gavela. These gifts are left in the streets and around farms such that those who are not at home when the feasts begin may find them.
