Dreadstalker

THE DREADSTALKERS: Long before the formation of the Dreadstalker Order, the world was a chaotic and dangerous place, teeming with monsters and dark forces that threatened the lives of all its inhabitants. Among the people, there were those who rose to the challenge and fought back against these nightmarish creatures, earning them the title of "Dreadstalker" for their exceptional skill and bravery. Legend has it that the first Dreadstalker was one of the few warriors who survived Battle of Greystone. Upon slaying the demon, the weapon he used to slay Drakazar was Soulreaver: The Blade of Redemption , infused with a portion of the demon's soul, granting the wielder unparalleled abilities to hunt and destroy the monsters that crawled into their realm from the darkness. However, this power came at a great cost, as the warrior was now cursed to bear the demon's taint and suffer a shortened lifespan. Over time, tales of this warrior's deeds spread far and wide, inspiring both dread and awe. Those individuals who sought out the remnants of the ancient demon's soul shards, scattered throughout the world in the form of cursed artifacts, and were deemed worthy by fate or sheer determination, became Dreadstalkers. They embraced the curse to protect the realm from the ever-present threat of monsters from the realms of fire and darkness (Niflheim and Muspelheim) As the legends of the Dreadstalkers grew, so too did the complexity of their lore. It was said that each Dreadstalker would eventually face their own personal "Trial of Shadows," a confrontation that would test not only their physical prowess but also their mental and emotional fortitude. By overcoming this trial, Dreadstalkers would gain a deeper understanding of the darkness within themselves and the world, allowing them to grow in power and wisdom. As the number of Dreadstalkers increased, they began to recognize the need for unity and cooperation. Thus, the Dreadstalker Order was born, a brotherhood and sisterhood of monster hunters dedicated to sharing knowledge, resources, and support. They established hidden sanctuaries throughout the world, where aspiring Dreadstalkers could train, learn, and prepare for their own Trial of Shadows. The Dreadstalker Order was governed by an enigmatic council known as the Shadow Circle, consisting of the most accomplished and wise Dreadstalkers. These individuals would guide the Order's actions, maintaining the balance between their own darkness and their duty to protect the world from monstrous threats. Despite their cursed origins, the Dreadstalkers became renowned as saviors and guardians, their legends inspiring generations of heroes to join the Order and uphold its noble cause. With the birth of the Dreadstalker Order, the world gained a new line of defense against the darkness, a glimmer of hope in the face of overwhelming adversity.   Who is able to become a Dreadstalker: The holder of the cursed item must have, at the very least, some Elven blood. Any pure mortal who holds such an item, one cursed with Drakazar's soul shard, would die long before acquiring any benefit from the encounter. The issue with being of Elven decent is that the soul of the being (wielder) is now forever tarnished by the curse. The only cure is death, and the curse seeks to collect on that as swiftly as possible. Even though Elves are immortal, they can die, or suffer a worse fate,at the hands of Drakazar's curse.
