The Arcanist
(a.k.a. Titanslayer)
The Arcanist was one of The Titanslayers that freed mortals after The Primordial Conflict. The Arcanist was hailed as one of the greatest heroes in Aetheria's history. The legends say that The Arcanist was responsible for creating the first magical academy in Aetheria, where she taught young mages how to harness and control their magical abilities.
Early Life
Before The Primordial Conflict, little was known about The Arcanist's early life. However, it is widely believed that she was a highly respected mage and scholar, renowned for her extensive knowledge of arcane magic and its practical applications. The Arcanist was often sought after for her expertise in matters relating to magical research, experimentation, and the development of new spells and enchantments. She spent most of her time secluded in her personal laboratory, delving deep into the mysteries of the arcane, and honing her skills as a master of the aether. Despite her vast knowledge and experience, The Arcanist was a solitary figure who kept mostly to themselves, rarely venturing out into the wider world. It was only when she was approached by the other Titanslayers that The Arcanist's true potential was revealed, and her place in history was secured. The Primordial Conflict
During The Primordial Conflict, The Arcanist played a vital role in the final battle against the Titans. As her name suggests, she possessed a great mastery over arcane magic, which she employed to charge the explosive shells for The Weapon. The Arcanist's role was critical in this endeavor, as her arcane energies were necessary to infuse the shells with enough power to penetrate the Titans' formidable defenses. Her abilities also proved instrumental in protecting the other Titanslayers during the battle, as she was able to conjure powerful shields to defend against the Titans' devastating attacks.Legacy
Life in Yunzanes
After the defeat of the Titans and the restoration of peace to the world, The Arcanist retired from the adventuring life and settled in the city of Yunzanes. There, she spent the next few years studying and perfecting her arcane craft, and became renowned as a wise and powerful mage among the city's populace. However, little is known about what occurred during this period of her life, prior to the establishment of Aetheria's first Arcane Academy. The era immediately following the Age of Titans had led to the destruction of many records, artworks, and even cultures. It is speculated that during this time, The Arcanist may have been deeply affected by the anarchy and chaos that ensued after the fall of the Titans and used her power to protect Yunzanes. The Titans had been not only oppressors of the mortal races but also sculptors who created and shaped the natural world. Without their authority, the world had been plunged into chaos as mortals struggled to fill the void left by their absence. The Arcanist recognized the need for a greater understanding of magic and a centralized education system for those who wished to master it. As a result, she may have spent these years in contemplation, developing a plan for the establishment of an institution that would train mages to harness and utilize the magical energies of the world. It is also rumored that during this time, The Arcanist made several significant discoveries about the nature of Aether itself. These discoveries may have played a crucial role in the formation of her teachings and the curriculum of the Academy. The contents of her great tome, the Arcanum, are said to contain many of these discoveries and have been sought after by mages and scholars for centuries. Regardless of what events may have transpired during this time, it is clear that The Arcanist's vision for an Arcane Academy was ultimately realized. Her establishment of the Luminarium Academy allowed for the cultivation of skilled and knowledgeable mages, who would go on to shape the world in their own ways.Luminarium Academy
In the year 8 ECa she started Aetheria's first Arcane Academy, named Luminarium Academy. It is said that The Arcanist was a wise and patient teacher, and that her students revered her for her knowledge and wisdom. Many of her students went on to become powerful mages in their own right, spreading knowledge and magic throughout Aetheria and inspiring many more to pursue the arcane arts. The Academy quickly grew into a bustling city which attracted even more looking to study the arcane. The Arcanist spent much of her later years studying the magical properties of Aether itself, and that she discovered many secrets about the world that had been hidden from even the most skilled mages. It is said that she recorded all of her discoveries in a great tome called the Arcanum, which has been sought after by mages and scholars for centuries.Death
As she grew older, The Arcanist began to suffer from the effects of old age, which gradually sapped her strength and vitality. She refused to let her failing health stop her from continuing to practice magic and mentor younger mages, but eventually her body grew too weak to continue. In the end, The Arcanist passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her closest friends and disciples. Her passing was mourned throughout the city, and a grand memorial was held in her honor. Her remains were laid to rest in a tomb at the foot of The Mountain of Eternity, where she had fought so bravely and helped to secure the fate of the world.
