Freya the Summer Maiden (Frey-A)

Freya the Summer Maiden. Summer is a time for work and toil. She carries a similar attitude. Tough, loud and hardworking. Her kindness is felt by the diligent and her wrath, the lazy. She along with her colleagues of the old faith, serve to balance nature and persevere through time. Often seen as harsh by some of the younger gods, such things are pointless to Freya. An honest day's work is its own reward afterall. One of the main deities of the Primordial Green. The Second of the Season Riders. The Goddess of Summer, Rain, Life, Crops, the Harvest, Wealth and Diligence. She is part of the Archfey. She is the patron of the Summer Eladrin.

Church of Freya

The Church of Freya holds a pervasive influence, especially across the continent of Aetheus. Non-worshippers often view the Church unfavourably due to its tendencies to disrupt expansion into woodland, sometimes with violence. With a versatile group of followers, from traders, craftsmen, merchants and druids to farmers, land-owners, gardeners, workers and the young. Noted as the Midsummers Order.   Her blessings bring the rain that feed the crops and plants of the land, and she rewards those of hard work with great bounties of gold or favours of fortune. But for those that take advantage of others, that rather remain oafish and lazy, tends to curse them with greater senses of lethargy and stupour, with a sense of favourite punishment of turning them into mules or livestock, to be forced into work and change their ways, or to be butchered as pigs.   Examples of rituals for worship are entreaties for spells at sunrise. The Dryad Dance is a replenishing ritual of wild, wayward dance that calls out dryads to join the ritualists for mating. Most Freya clerics, sometimes referred to as Firebrands, also function as druids or rangers.   Her greatest followers are within the Feywild, the Summer Eladrin, and part of the Summer Court of the Fey.

Shrines and Temples

Most of Freya's shrines and temples are built from natural material like wood or placed inside and around vibrant places of life, groves, or a great tree. Every major temple of Freya has a fountain, whcih is said to draw its waters from Freya's realm and possess healing powers, granting respite from a hard days labour of work. They hold great stores, kitchens and animal stalls.

Realm

Freya's realm resides within the Feywild, but also many believe that she resides within the vibrant fields of civilisation across Aetheus.
