Adoy

Adoys are a type of monster that attach themselves to the back of a person and ride them, controlling their body. They do this by jumping onto the victim's shoulders and inserting tendrils from their fingers into their target's spinal cord at their nape. Having done this, the adoy can control every part of the victim's body below the neck. Removing an adoy is quite dangerous. The only safe way to remove one is to render it unconscious first. However, this is still quite dangerous, as one mistake could render the victim paralyzed from the neck down.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Adoys are humanoid in shape and are quite small. They have very long pointed ears, hook-shaped noses, sunken eyes, and wrinkled skin. They have tendrils that can extend from the tips of their fingers, with a maximum length of seven inches.

Genetics and Reproduction

Adoys reproduce sexually and are viviparous. Their gestation period is four months.

Ecology and Habitats

Adoys generally prefer warm climates.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Adoys feed off of the people that they ride. When they attach to a person, they siphon nutrients from the victim's body. This gradually weakens and eventually kills the victim. The average time a victim will survive is about forty-five days, but there is significant variance depending on the size and age of both the adoy and the victim. The longest anyone has survived with an adoy attached to them is ninety days.
