Caoineag
Caoineags are creatures of Faerie.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Caoineags are quadrupedal with scaled bodies and fish-like heads. They have sharp teeth and claws. They also have both gills and lungs, allowing them to breathe on land as well as underwater. They also have a special organ that gives them the ability to make a sound that sounds almost exactly the same as a Fae woman crying.
Genetics and Reproduction
Caoineags reproduce sexually and are oviparous. Their incubation period is five months and their eggs are typically laid in clutches of five to seven.
Ecology and Habitats
Caoinieags generally live in or close to bodies of water.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Caoineags are strictly carnivorous. They are unusual in that they only hunt people. Their typical method of hunting is to conceal themselves in a lake, pond, or river, use the sound they can make to lure someone towards them, then attack.
Additional Information
Domestication
Caoineags can be domesticated, but their diet makes them quite difficult to keep, as they will refuse to eat anything else.
Average Intelligence
While they are more intelligent than most animals, caoineags are not sapient.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Caoineags have an exceptional sense of smell and are otherwise average.
Lifespan
20 years
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Caoineags generally have blue or green scales.
