Co-Principality of Stassia
Structure
Stassia is governed by a diarchy. One of the princes is of the Éadrom, and the other is of the Dorhadas. In theory, they are supposed to govern Stassia in its entirety together, but in practice, the Éadrom prince governs the plains, and the Dorhadas prince governs the desert. The only place where Éadrom and Dorhadas live in close proximity in large numbers is the capital, located roughly in the center of Stassia, on the boundary of the plains and the desert.
History
The Elves of Stassia were originally a multitude of disparate tribes. Long ago, a large Orc tribe arrived in the area, and began to wage war upon the Elves. When roughly half of the area's Elf tribes had been destroyed, the remaining tribes organized a meeting between their leaders, who eventually came to the decision to unite all of the tribes under two leaders, one from the largest Éadrom tribe, and one from the largest Dorhadas tribe. Eventually, the united tribes managed to drive back the Orcs, but took heavy losses in doing so. Because of this, the unification, which was originally meant to be a temporary measure, ended up being permanent. Despite this, the Éadrom and the Dorhadas never learned to tolerate each other.
The division between the Éadrom and the Dorhadas was what cost Stassia the war against the Erelicia Imperium. The Dorhadas prince and the Éadrom prince refused to work together, instead choosing to operate their armies separately, which allowed the Erelician forces to destroy them with relative ease.
