Infernal Prince

Appointment

The title of Prince is hereditary, and as such, only one of the Ashmedi can become Prince. However, because of the ageless nature of the Irkallan Princes, succession is rare.

Duties

The Prince handles foreign policy, adjudicates disputes between nobles, and is the supreme commander of the Infernal military.

History

The Infernal Prince used to be subservient to the King of Irkalla. However, there has not been a King in many centuries, and so the Prince has become an independent ruler.

Equates to

Politically, an Irkallan Prince is technically equivalent to a King, but none of them are willing to actually take the title of King, because of the prophecy told by the last King, Agrimas.
