Principality of Inferna
Inferna is the homeland of Devils. It is a place that is entirely volcanic. Lakes and rivers of lava are common, and water is scarce. There are few plants in Inferna, and the few that are there are typically quite dangerous, with the safest being thorny or poisonous, and the more dangerous being malicious and capable of independent movement. Most animals in Inferna are carnivorous or omnivorous. Very few are able to survive solely on plants.
Sulfur, also known as brimstone, is common in Inferna.
Structure
Nobility
The noble castes of Inferna consist almost entirely of Eliouds. Those few who aren't are the Nephilim, the Lords of Inferna. All nobles belong to a noble House. There are three noble castes, which are: Royal CasteThe Royal caste consists of the Royal House of Ashmedi, which was founded by Ashmedai, the Infernal Prince. Ducal Caste
The Ducal caste consists of all the Great Houses:
- House Astaroi, founded by Astaroth
- House Lilitu, founded by Lilith.
- House Beliar, founded by Beliya'al
- House Verrina, founded by Verrine
- House Soneillia, founded by Soneillon
The Baron caste consists of the minor Houses, which are not important enough to list here. The minor Houses are subsidiaries of the Great Houses, made in order to reduce the amount of direct management that the Lords had to do.
Plebs
Underneath the nobility are the plebeian castes, separated by type:- Succubi are the first plebeian caste, and are typically the servants of nobility. Cambions are also included in this caste.
- Byzous are the second plebeian caste, and are typically guards of noble residences and water sources, as well as Inferna's elite soldiers.
- Valaci are the third plebeian caste, and are typically merchants.
- Ba'alzebubs are the fourth plebeian caste, and are typically crafters.
- Shedim are the fifth plebeian caste, and are typically soldiers.
- Se’irim are the sixth plebeian caste, and are typically laborers.
- Imps are the seventh plebeian caste, and are typically slaves.
Infrastructure
When ash falls from Inferna's volcanoes, Imps and Se’irim are tasked with getting rid of it. They do this by collecting the ash and loading it onto vehicles that transport the ash to warehouses, where it is stored to be used as fertilizer for farming. If these are full, it is taken to The Abyss and dumped in.
There are also large canals intended to redirect lava flow from eruptions.

It is a common misconception that souls are Inferna's currency. This is inaccurate, since Inferna operates on a barter system, but it is true that souls are very valuable.
