Silent waters
In an area off of the coast of Seiwania where volcanic activity is especially high, a half-moon shaped island is located close to the shore.
The shape indicates the once massive volcano, now reduced to the Blackstone peak - a smaller active volcano. The ancient remnant is truly magnificent and awe-inspiring, it is hard to imagine such a large volcano.
Geography
Even though the majestic and enormous volcano is no more, the area itself is still very active. Smaller volcanoes have since formed, the biggest is found on the island and the natives have named it Blackstone peak, which is relatively active. Underwater, the magma pours out countless places, warming the waters - and the closer you are to the source the closer the water is to boil. Most of the volcanic activity is happening underneath the surface, and it makes this part of the ocean quite unfriendly for both flora and fauna alike. Chunks of the ocean floor is replaced every month or so with a new layer of magma, and the water around it has an interesting effect, as it cools the magma quite quickly compared to air. This can in some cases form volcanic glass, and pillow lava - round shapes formed from the magma.Name
It is awfully silent and quiet in the waters between the half-moon island and the coast and not many species can survive the special conditions found here. Some hardy creatures do live fairly close to the active areas of the waters. Crabs, barnacles, and sea snails. For these creatures, this particular active area brings things to the ecosystem not found anywhere else in the ocean; hot water, minerals and bacteria. But comparably, these waters are desolate and almost seem dead. Natives from the Island do fish in the waters, and a special delicacy is the Magma Snails that is only found in this area. They thrive in the hot waters and are an easy catch for the fishermen.
