Library Book

The Crew stumbles upon the trail of the most infamous spellbook ever written, the Necronomicon.   The saga starts when the team discovers a zombie Sabretooth tiger wreaking havoc after it escapes from a museum exhibit. With swift intervention, the team confronts the beast on the street. Following the battle, they investigate the museum and uncover a rudimentary ritual circle—a clue to a sinister plot involving necromantic magic.   The plot intensifies when Kei Sakamoto is called into the mix to help unravel the mysteries surrounding the animated tiger. During this, Artemis inadvertently reads from a magical incantation, prompting her teammates to subdue her to prevent unknown consequences. The group’s investigation then pivots to tracking down the source of the necromantic spell, leading them to White Crest Academy, where they identify a student, Madison Brenner, as the one who cast the original spell from a page copied out of the Necronomicon.   As the story unfolds, the crew infiltrates Madison’s family home to secure more evidence and uncovers a hidden, magical notebook that Madison has been using for her dark rituals. A mixture of magical traps and dangers presents the group with new obstacles, but they continue to pursue Madison, ultimately facing off in a dramatic confrontation in a graveyard where Madison attempts a final, desperate ritual to resurrect her deceased father. This culminates in an intense showdown with Madison, who has summoned zombies as her protectors. The crew’s intervention ultimately foils her plans, but their victory is tinged with a moral quandary, leaving her fate unresolved.

The Story so Far

010

While conducting research at a public library, the Crew joined Artemis in investigating her potential father. A loud crash interrupted their search, leading them to a museum where a necrotic-energy-fueled Sabretooth Tiger attacked. They battled the undead creature, and despite a fiery attack by Rosabelle, the skeletal remains proved resilient. Kiyoshi delivered the final blow using her "Evo Conqueror." A shoddy ritual circle was discovered at the museum, providing a hint of malevolent forces at play.

Continuing the investigation, the Crew sought assistance from Kei Sakamoto. As Artemis inadvertently read from a scroll and began chanting, a tasing intervention was required to halt her actions. After a disagreement, Artemis ran away, leading to a search ending at an Abandoned Warehouse where she was participating in a rave. Eventually, they left the rave and returned to Salty's Saloon to regroup.

Resuming their investigation, the Crew connected the scroll to a page from the Necronomicon. Visiting the White Crest Museum, they reviewed the past to identify a student responsible for the ritual at the crime scene. Suspecting MacroTech's involvement, they planned to explore further by visiting Dr. Brenner's apartment in Uptown.

The Crew's efforts led them to the Aurora Academy and Madison Brenner, the girl connected to the Necronomicon. Their visit to Dr. Brenner's apartment yielded clues, including a magical notebook protected by a ward that ensnared Artemis. She managed to free herself and replace the notebook with an enchanted decoy. The team continued to probe MacroTech's role in these events.

014

The group conducted research at Phoebe's Lab as they tried to further their investigation.

017

The crew raced against time to stop Madison Brenner from completing a necromantic ritual to resurrect her father. Kei Sakamoto faced pressure from Police Chief Cho to focus on the arson investigation at the vampire mansion, but ultimately chose to aid her friends in confronting Madison. Upon arriving at the cemetery, they found Madison already in a necromantic circle, surrounded by rising zombies. In a chaotic battle, Kei used her vampiric powers to distract the undead while Phoebe and Artemis attempted to disrupt the ritual. Artemis succeeded in weakening the ritual by stabbing the Necronomicon page with her Ruby Dagger, leading to Madison's unconsciousness after a confrontation. The crew anonymously dropped her off at the ER, escaping into the night as they left the threat behind—at least for now.
