Kratas Mesa

Kratas Mesa extends over three hundred yards nearly straight up from the plains on which it sits. It is wider than it is tall, over five mile sin diameter. The sides of the mesa are scored with long, deep cracks. On the side facing away from Kratas , the mesa is pocked with caves halfway up the cliff face, home to a number of flying creatures.
The top of the mesa is flat and black, almost disturbingly so. It is as smooth as glass, as if a great scythe had sheared off the top of a mountain. Nothing grows on the top of the mesa and it is incredibly hard to dig into.
Scholars claim the mesa is a natural locus of magical energy and it has certainly subtly Namegivers to it for longer than anyone has recorded.
The Kratas neighborhood, Clifftop , is built on the top of the mesa, overlooking the city itself.
