Chaz Kovunaka is the XO of Echo Company. A quietly-spoken fellow. He keeps himself to the command tent at most times and mainly fraternises only with his platoon leaders.
The squad were first properly introduced to Kovunaka after they delivered their report on the successful mission to capture Imperial Intelligence Special Agent Mardek Dellel. He praised the squad for their work and mentioned he was putting a citation in their files. However, he also admonished them for what he saw as disrespectful behaviour towards their commanding officer, Lieutenant Maak.
Kovunaka voiced his concerns to the squad about the high possibility of a mole at division HQ. He believed this mole was the reason for the failure of Private Salron's mission on Uvena Prime with the 2nd Pathfinder Regiment. Kovunaka asked the squad to take part in a confidential mission, where they would transport Dellel to Division HQ on Farstone. Once there, they would seek out any sign of a mole.
