Brief Summary of the faction:
The Achaemenid Empire was an Empire that existed on Terra during the Age of Strife and Unification Wars.
One of the earlier geopolitical entities to swear allegiance to the Emperor, the Achaemenid Empire had therefore suffered little during the Wars of Unification, avoiding both atomic strike and invasion by Thunder Warriors. A monarchical empire, the population were separated into tribal factions and were apparently a culture of truth and discourse. As a result of the relative peaceful nature of the region and the protection enjoyed by early adoption of Imperial allegiance, the Achaeminians sported few of the genetic defects or abnormalities seen amongst humans during this time and were therefore selected as a recruiting source for the infant Legiones Astartes. The Achaeminians provided the initial Terran intake assigned to Legion XV. The Achaeminians appeared to posses a form of superstitious belief in the mystical power of their ancestors; emblems of Dhul-Qarnayn, their greatest King, were used as charms against harm.

Miyân-rudân (Mesopotamia, Western Provinces): Miyân-rudân, the land between two rivers, is the the center of the Achaemenid Empire. Babylonia, the capital of the Empire is located here. A legendary city of myth and culture. Babylonia and the region is believed by many to be the ancestral birthplace of human civilization.
The Ancestral Tribelands (Central Provinces): Pershah is the core of the Achaemenid Empire. Pershah is the homeland of the Achaemenid people and the soul of our empire. It was here that our forefathers emerged to carve out this nation in blood and toil. But for many centuries now, Pershah has been dominated by tribal governors that only pay token service to the emperor. We must find a solution to this problem."
Pershah South Provinces: The old land of Persheis, Ouvja, Gedros and Karmania. It is the ancestral home of the Qarnayn tribe and by extension the Imperial family. These days it has fallen to poverty and mismanagement. it is left open and bare, its defenses wittled down over centuries of negligence.
Pershah East Provinces: a hardy and rugged land, and it is here that many Immortals make their home; yet it is also isolated and backwards. The eastern border is the gateway of our the empire and the shield that guards all of Pershah from the savages of the north.
Western Territories and possible vassals of the Empire: the Empire controls territory and vassal states up into the Mediterranean dust bowl.

Historic write up: "For over a thousand years our empire has stood defiant against all the threats of this world and has remained strong and stable for generations. Yet now ancient scars are beginning to rupture, and our empire is threatened not from without, but from within. The heart of our empire is plagued by numerous troubles, infections allowed to fester over the centuries. In Pershah our rule has weakened as local tribes expand their autonomy, and in the heart of the empire, Babylonia, old rivalries divide the city."
