Knihbour

The town of Knihbour is a coastal town that controls access from the Aelpond into the Bay of Ayno. Military fortifications here are present and designed to prevent outward incursions through the Julios Basin into the Bay of Ayno.
A very old town which existed even before the Mallowhurstian Empire, and is comparable to Venice with its importance to trade and geographic positioning. A wealthy town, with some farmlands on the outskirts, and is seen as the crossroads between the southwestern and southeastern Empire.
Resembles a cross between a Dutch/Venetian city, lots of canals and water access. Heavily influenced by naval trade, as it is often the stop for foreign ships trading into Mallowhurst.

The city is nearby a small mountain that many locals will venture in search of adventure or simply a retreat away from society. There is a small group of people living near the mountain, even though they are separated they are still considered part of the city and thus pay the city's taxes.

POLITICS

Count Orellio is the primary leader of the city, being born into this position in the year 4442. Working for the count are a group of armed city guards, known an Emperions. Orellio himself answers to higher governmental bodies outside the city. Orellio is criticized as working for his own desires instead of for the good of the city, as well as placing numerous unethical taxes on religious groups in the city. Much of the city's working class is very against the count's leadership, while the richer classes are in favor of him.
There are a few competing parties working for power in the city, the most notable among these being the Reformists.

Managed by Count Orellio. Has a lawmaster, who manages the Empirions and manages local law in the eyes of the empire.
